Circle of Giving:
The Circle of Giving recognizes congregants who donate funds to Temple Israel in addition to paying dues. This annual support helps Temple Israel create an inclusive, connected, and expanding Reform Jewish community in Omaha.

Up to 40% of Temple Israel’s operating budget is not covered by dues, donations, sponsorships, and grants.

Donations to the Circle of Giving help close that gap so that inspiring programs, learning opportunities for all ages, and celebrations are accessible, safe, and welcoming to all in our community.

The Circle of Giving will build a culture of philanthropy to ensure the sustainability and vitality of our congregation into the future – so that our shared values of Torah, tzedakah, and tikun olam continue for generations to come.

If you choose to join the Circle of Giving and wish to be publicly recognized, your name will be included on the wall in the Temple Israel building as well as in publications throughout the year.

 Levels:

  • $10,000: Benefactor
  • $3,600: Champion

  • $540: Friend

Tree of Life:
Celebrate the joyous moments in life by contributing to Temple Israel's Tree of Life. This beautiful and enduring tribute allows you to commemorate significant life events such as births, weddings, anniversaries, and other milestones. By purchasing a leaf for $300 or a boulder for $3000, you can honor these special occasions while supporting our congregation. Each leaf or boulder added to the Tree of Life serves as a lasting symbol of your family's life, legacy and joy, beautifully displayed for all to see, and your generosity will be recognized and appreciated by all who visit.

Memorial Plaques:
Honor the memory of your loved ones by purchasing a memorial plaque through Temple Israel. This meaningful tribute ensures that their yahrzeit will be perpetually observed, with their name read annually during a special service. As a family member, you will receive a notice of the service each year, offering a moment of reflection and remembrance. By investing in a memorial plaque, you not only commemorate your loved one but also contribute to the enduring legacy of our congregation.

The cost of each plaque is a contribution of $750 to the Congregation. This lasting tribute takes approximately eight weeks from the time of order to be displayed on our memorial wall. By purchasing a plaque, you are creating a permanent reminder of their life and faith, and supporting the Temple Israel's mission. Reach out today to secure this beautiful commemoration for those you hold dear.

Life & Legacy:
Life & Legacy™ is a partnership program of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation which assists communities across North America, through partnerships with Jewish Federations and Foundations, to promote after-lifetime giving to build endowments that will sustain Omaha’s valued organizations and vibrant Jewish community for the next generation and beyond.
