Dear Parents of Students in grades 8-12,
Please know that the following opportunities are open to all students in grades 8-12, regardless of their current Youth Learning Program enrollment status.
Civil Rights Teen Trip Dec. 1-4, 2023 We had some wonderful interest at Wednesday night's informational meeting about our upcoming Civil Rights Teen Trip; a big thank you to those who joined us live and via Zoom!
If you were unable to join us, you may find the Zoom recording and handouts with sample itinerary HERE on our Hebrew High homepage .
The $800 per student trip fee is subsidized with generous funding from the Shirley and Leonard Goldstein Supporting Foundations and the Staenberg Family Foundation Anything Grant.
Mitzvah Corps Wednesday, Sept. 6th, 6:30 pm (special start time) This week our teens will be meeting up with other teens from Beth El's Hebrew High to experience our first Mitzvah Corps of the year. Each month we will use the FRAME, SERVE, REFLECT model for our hands-on volunteer experiences in order to ground our service in Jewish learning.
This Wednesday we are partnering with Keep Omaha Beautiful's Stormwater Pollution Prevention project. We are meeting at Somerset Park. We encourage students to be dropped off on site, however, if you would like to carpool from Temple Israel please have your teen reach out to me. We will begin at 6:30 pm with a picnic dinner provided by Beth El while we learn about the project together. Our service this evening will involve walking outside; please dress accordingly. We will conclude in the same location at 8 pm.
If you are not enrolled and you are interested in participating in ANY of our Hebrew High events please reach out to me!
