Hello there! Another amazing week with fun Temple events! Here's what's up this week!
HEBREW HIGH TOMORROW After our surprise hiatus last week, we are ecstatic to be back at Temple Israel for Hebrew High this week. We will be joined by members of our Abortion Rights Committee to discuss advocacy. Dinner will be some burgers and dogs! It's sure to be a fantastic evening.
Tu b'Shvat is Coming Up! We invite all generations of our congregation to join us as we immerse ourselves in Spring and embrace new growth for Tu b’Shvat – a celebration of trees. Our Seder will feature a tasting of the four fruits of Tu b’Shvat, four cups of grape juice, and an exploration of their significance.
Join us in the Social Hall on Sunday, February 5, where we will have a variety of tree-themed hands-on activities to engage all participants during the seder. Please RSVP by January 27. (Our Madrichimot are expected to be there, but everyone is invited to come!)
Calling All Humans of Temple Israel! We want to hear your story and have you represented in our Humans of Temple Israel engagement piece to help us all to connect with each other. Please fill out this form to be apart of it. We especially want to hear from our teens!
Save The Date! We have some fun events coming up...
Jewish Family Service and the Jewish Federation of Omaha is sponsoring presenters from the Set Me Free Project and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to provide three parallel sessions to middle school students, high school students and parents, each of the following Tuesday nights, from 7-8:30PM, starting February 7th. Registration will be posted soon on the Jewish Federation of Omaha website with links for each session on the home page.
We have an amazing teen-only event coming up on Sunday, 2/26 from 2-4. Keep an eye on your email for more information.
Purim is Quickly Approaching! On March 3rd, 2023 there will be a Purim Lock-In for all 8th-12th graders! Starting at 8:00pm we hope you'll join us to help set up the carnival, be the first to play the games, and have some fun. This year the lock-in is the Friday before the carnival, so we will have time to get some more sleep before Sunday. More information will be coming soon, but you can RSVP early.
There are also volunteer opportunities on March 5th during the carnival. Please reach out to Jay if you'd like to participate.
