Welcome to Temple Israel of Omaha
Community. Service. Kindness. Torah.
Temple Israel is a Reform congregation in Omaha, Nebraska. We are a congregation of 642 families. We strive to bridge tradition and modernity so that worship links our precious history with fresh approaches to spirituality.

Our Values
Temple Israel is a warm and inclusive community that welcomes families and individuals from diverse backgrounds. We rely on these values to guide our daily operations and programming. These values also became the driving force behind the creation of the Tri-Faith initiative.

Temple Israel values lifelong Jewish learning. We are excited to raise our children to become strong Jewish adults, through positive Jewish experiences in Religious School, B’nai Mitzvah, Confirmation, youth group, summer camp, and high school trips to Israel.

Our Youth Learning Programs
The Religious School at Temple Israel has been a magnet for young families and is well-regarded for meeting the varying needs of individual learners, as well as engaging the whole family in Jewish learning. Recent additions to our program include a new curriculum for our Pre-K through 6th-grade students, the introduction of “chugim” learning, and an innovative new approach to teen education that blends formal and informal engagement. In addition, we have a vibrant madrichim program that has helped us retain our teens, while they set an example of continued participation to our younger students. Wednesdays and Sundays, our wonderful building is vibrant and full of youth!

Nebraska Nice
Omaha has the cultural and civic benefits of larger cities with the relationships and communal values often found in smaller towns. The joys of living in Omaha are many. Affordable housing, outstanding public schools, generous philanthropists, a well-educated population, and low unemployment make this a great place to live and grow.
