MEET THE PERFORMERS

Cantor Joanna Alexander is an experienced and talented cantor who is beloved by her congregants and colleagues alike for her warmth, her wisdom, and her sincerity. Both in her congregation and in the broader Reform movement, she has built a reputation as a dedicated and reliable clergy partner, a loving pastoral caregiver, and a skilled leader of innovation in ways that honor and affirm tradition. She enjoys teaching children to love Jewish music and is passionate about helping teens develop a Jewish ethical approach to navigating life’s challenges. In 2025, she was appointed to the Board of the American Conference of Cantors (ACC). 

Cantor Alexander lives in Omaha with her husband, Jacob, and their three children, Evelyn, Brianna, and Brian. 

 

 


 

Cantor Rebecca Moses
Cantor Rebecca Moses serves as Cantor for Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel in South Orange, NJ. She was ordained as Cantor in 2009 by the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, Debbie Friedman School of Sacred Music in New York City, where she received her Master’s Degree in Sacred Music in 2008. She holds a Bachelor of Music Degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music. Cantor Moses currently serves as the Vice President of Administration for the American Conference of Cantors.

Prior to becoming part of the TSTI community, Cantor Moses served for three years as Cantor-Educator at Temple Anshe Sholom in Hamilton, Ontario. She has served as a presenter for both Hava Nashira, the URJ’s premiere song-leading training, and for the URJ. She was awarded the 2022 President's Award for Volunteerism by the ACC.


She resides with her husband, Aaron, daughter, Alexandra, and son, Levi, in West Orange.
 

Cantor Leigh Korn
Cantor Leigh Korn joined the clergy team at Temple Isaiah in Lafayette, CA in 2005.  He earned a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of the Pacific Conservatory of Music in bassoon performance and a Master’s degree in choral conducting from the University of Iowa.  He went on to earn a Masters of Sacred Music degree from the Hebrew Union College – Jewish Insititute of Religion School of Sacred Music (studying both in Jerusalem and New York), and in 2005, became ordained as cantor.  While studying in Jerusalem, Cantor Korn received the Huebsch Prize for Excellence in Community Service for his work with Tzi’im, a choir for intellectually disabled adults, including preparing them for a performance at the K’nesset. Cantor Korn serves as Vice President on the board of the American Conference of Cantors.  He has thrice conducted the Delegates’ Choir at the Union for Reform Judaism (URJ) Biennial Convention in Toronto (2009) and in Boston (2017) and in Chicago (2019).  In 2010, Cantor Korn was one of 20 cantors invited to sing at the Vatican for a historic concert as a part of a conference on Jewish-Catholic Dialogue.  In 2015, he was chosen to be the cantor for the Shabbat service for the URJ Biennial Convention in Orlando.

Cantor Kenneth Feibush
Cantor Kenneth Feibush has served Congregation Beth Israel in Houston, TX since 2022. He previously served pulpits in Cedar Grove, NJ, Louisiana, Alaska, and New York City. He was ordained from the Hebrew Union College Jewish Institute of Religion in 2016. He graduated from Rutgers College with a B.A. with Honors with majors in Middle Eastern Studies and Psychology. Kenny grew up in Watchung, NJ, and in 2001, he was trained by then Student Cantor Wendy Shermet for his Bar Mitzvah.  

Cantor Feibush is on the Board of Directors of the American Conference of Cantors. In addition to his love of singing, Cantor Feibush plays violin, enjoys knitting, swimming, languages, and has been to all 50 states. Upon arriving in Houston in the summer of 2022, he met his besheret, the love of his life, and together they have two sweet and needy dogs.


Cantor Emerita Wendy Shermet retired in 2019 after serving Temple Israel for 18 wonderful years. She has a Master of Music Degree from the New England Conservatory of Music, and ordination and a Master of Sacred Music from Hebrew Union College â€“ Jewish Institute of Religion.
