Please join us for a six-part series on the writings and teachings of Rabbi Dr. Lord Jonathan Sacks, a prominent thinker and figure in 20th- and 21st-century Judaism who helped bridge the gap between tradition and modernity. His writings and teachings have touched the lives of countless Jews and non-Jews alike and have had a profound impact on those seeking to incorporate more Judaism into their lives.

Texts for Class will feature (we encourage you to purchase your own copy or check out from the local libraries):

Dignity of Difference. Rabbi Dr Lord Jonathan Sacks, Bloomsbury Continuum. 2025 (paperback edition)

To Heal A Fractured World. Rabbi Dr. Lord Jonathan Sacks. Shocken Books. 2007.

Rabbi Arnie Bienstock has a BA in anthropology, magna cum laude, from Columbia University, 1975. He then attended the Jewish Theological Seminary, where he was ordained in 1980. Rabbi Bienstock has served pulpits in Portsmouth, NH; Toledo, OH; Indianapolis, IN; and Salisbury, MD, before concluding his career as a hospital chaplain at Coastal Hospice in 2025. In addition, Rabbi Beinstock has served as an adjunct professor at both Butler University in Indiana and later at Salisbury University in Maryland. Rabbi Bienstock recently retired to Omaha, NE, to be closer to family and has become a wonderful addition to our congregation community here at Temple Israel.
